Honeoye Lake

Did you know? The origin story of the lake’s name is about a Native American who, while picking berries, had his finger bitten by a rattlesnake. He then cut off his finger with a tomahawk and left it there. Archeological finds indicate that people have lived in Richmond and Honeoye for nearly 1000 years, preceding the Iroquois or the Algonquins.
