    10:00 am - 2:00 pm

This exciting free event will showcase the wonderful things taking place at the Museum as well as within the local community. Join us for some local music from the Yates Concert Series, featuring the band High Country, mini-paddling opportunities, food & drinks, representatives from local organizations, our brand new 11 Lakes Traveling Exhibit and kid-friendly activities.

Borrow our kayaks to practice your paddling skills and take a quick trip down Sugar Creek, taking in the beauty of the area or sit and enjoy the live music playing through the campus. Local organizations Cornell Cooperative Extension, Finger Lakes Institute & FL Prism, Veterans One-stop Center and others will have tables with information and activities. Wander through the premier showing of our 1200 sq.ft.11 Lakes Traveling Exhibit, highlighting the stories, geology, and culture of the Finger Lakes Region. Families can enjoy our newly added StoryWalk featuring the book Turtle’s Race with Beaver and kids will love the newly-constructed natural playscape that encourages imaginative play. Local favorite, Crooked Lake Mercantile, will have sandwich lunch and drinks available for purchase.

Can’t make it to Branchport for our open house? Come visit the Barn at Broccolo Garden Center in Fairport at 2755 Penfield Rd, on Saturday September 17th from 1-4 PM. This event will be featuring music by Gordon Munding and his band as well as wine tastings with One Hope and Bees Knees cocktail tastings with Black Button Distilling. Author Jenny Collins will have a book signing of Comfort in the Wings, based on her stories of nature encounters. Plants, pottery and gifts are on sale and 10% of all purchases will be donated to the Finger Lakes Museum. A great cause and a great event!

Attendance is free at both events. Donations greatly appreciated! Can’t wait to see you there!
