Forest Bathing

May 6, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$25.00

“In the forest, I still know how to become one with a landscape rich with a thousand mysteries.” – Bernadette Rebienot, Member of International 13 Grandmothers Counsel

Join educator, horticultural therapist, herbalist and certified forest therapy guide Deb Denome as you “immerse in the medicine of the forest.” Nestled among the rolling green hills just north of the west branch of Keuka Lake lies Big Gully, a three-mile-long gorge that runs from the Guyanoga Valley to the edge of Italy Hill State Forest, a Finger Lakes Land Trust property. Here Deb will lead you in Shinrin Yoku, a guided practice to access the peace, vitality, creativity and renewal of the forest. Whether you are in nature all the time or are reluctant to walk in the wild alone, on a Shinrin-Yoku Forest Immersion walk you will be skillfully guided into a gentle, enjoyable, full sensory experience of our natural world. Your mind can rest as you sink into invitations that engage your senses…taking in the images, sounds, aromas, breath, touch and wisdom of the forest. Insights received are often profound. Walks are concluded with a tea ceremony of wild, forest plants.

Please note: the Botsford Preserve is situated around a gully, and the terrain is not flat. This walk includes some inclines. Hiking poles or walking sticks may be desired.
