BioBlitz 2023

June 3, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Calling all Citizen Scientists!  Yes, that means YOU!!!  Explorers of all ages and abilities can help us explore and discover what is living on our campus!  Exercise your observation skills while sharing your findings with the Finger Lakes Museum!

‘Bio’ means ‘life’ and ‘Blitz’ means ‘to do something quickly and intensively’. Together they make ‘BioBlitz’ – a collaborative race against the clock to discover as many species as possible within a set location over a defined time period!

A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time.  Scientists, families, students, teachers, and other community members work together to get a snapshot of an area’s biodiversity.  Ours will take place in the Townsend-Grady Wildlife Preserve.  All observations, general (like “duck”) or specific (like “female wood duck”) are valuable!

Please register for this FREE EVENT so that we can be properly prepared.  Snacks and water refills will be provided.  Grab your binoculars, cameras, and your five senses and join us!
